Bridges of Indiana Disability Services offers the following services and programs for children and adults living with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities to help reach life goals with the support of family, friends and the community. Over the past 15 years, Bridges has transformed into a national company, now serving people with disabilities in six states. There is no one more powerful than a mother on a mission to help her children. This is where our story begins. Peggy Burlison, a mother of two sons, was told the options for her child with a disability were not the same as the options for her other child. This strong willed and highly educated woman took this as a call to action and founded Bridges. She sought to create an agency that would focus on advocacy and providing quality services. We instill in our employees this passion Peggy had, which motivates them to always strive to do their best. We hold a fundamental understanding of what problems and challenges those with disabilities face. Our service delivery model reflects those experiences. From the very first meeting with our Client Advocacy and Intake Team, each individual is treated with dignity and respect; the way any family would want their loved one to be treated. Our local team of Client Services Field Supervisors have the knowledge and experience to assist each family through the network of State service requirements. By taking time to meet with each individual and family upon intake, we are able to ensure that individuals and families understand the complex nature of Home and Community Based Waiver Services. By always being available to answer your many questions, we can help provide satisfaction and peace of mind for each person we serve.
